We are recruiting!
We focus on helping individuals and families navigate through a separation or divorce, usually a taxing and emotionally challenging time, and our professional help makes all the difference to improving a client’s situation. That’s why we’re looking for either experienced applicants who’ve completed professional training or trainees who’ve ideally completed an FMC or FMCA approved course or be enrolled on one and waiting to complete it.
Training to become a family mediator needs time and commitment. Trainees will be able to finish their course while working for us as a freelancer and then complete a portfolio of various cases while being mentored and supervised. Our existing trainees come from a variety of different backgrounds and usually from a similar strand of business such as counselling, family law or family support.
Every mediator we recruit, professionals and trainees, must understand family matters and be able to assist clients in making arrangements such as child welfare and the division of finances in difficult situations. Every step of the way, options must be given to clients so they can choose from different strategies. Mediators must be able to provide a strong backbone of support to assist clients experiencing emotional turmoil such as anger, sadness, anxiety, and depression. Moving forwards in a difficult family situation is usually a long, drawn-out process and a successful mediator must know how to offer continuous unfaltering support, also linking to other agencies who can provide additional value to the process.
Once you join our successful and thriving team, you’ll work with us on a freelance basis and you must carry your own professional indemnity insurance.
Our team’s well-established, experienced, qualified, and expanding in our growing business. The role is most suited to those with a flexible and hardworking approach and who are exceptionally self-motivated when it comes to delivering a top quality mediation service. Strong IT skills and the ability to work from your own home-office are an essential part of this role, together with the willingness and ability to travel to meet clients in different locations where we work. Additionally, we hold regular team meetings which all our mediators need to attend when they’re scheduled.
